FCSS-FESC Statement Regarding CUPE Contract Negotiations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

KITCHENER, ON – The Federation of Canadian Secondary Students calls upon the Ontario government and CUPE-OSBCU to return to the bargaining table and work towards an agreement that best reflects the needs of students and their classroom supports.

We continue to affirm that in-person learning is optimal for student achievement and wellbeing, and ask that school boards encourage teachers to be flexible when delivering online instruction and assessments. The FCSS-FESC encourages school boards to make additional mental health and counseling resources available to students through this transition.
